Scott and Bob discuss the big questions–how do we get what we want? Will it work? What can we do to win? And we do it in the context of Cornel West’s campaign for president. Over the years, campaigns have invigorated the Left–Nader, Stein, of course Bernie Sanders–but their impact is gone once the election is over and the U.S. moves further to the Right . . . again.
There are so many issues to confront–labor, the environment, abortion rights, guns, health care, inter alia–and electoral fetishism sucks up money, energy and oxygen with no discernible results to come. It does not give the Left leverage over the Democrats, it gives the Democrats excuses to punch Left.
